For the graduates of the first season of the special training program "Leaders of the Future", a short-term refresher course was organized at the Academy of Public Administration. Otabek Khasanov, First Deputy Director of the Agency for the Development of Public Service under the President, took part in the opening ceremony.

This program is aimed at forming a new generation of leaders among mid-level managers working in state bodies and organizations, attracting patriotic, enterprising and active youth to the public service.

During the four-day training, the young leaders were explained in detail the ideas put forward in the speech of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the joint session of both chambers of the Oliy Majlis, dedicated to the solemn ceremony of the inauguration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Experienced specialists in the field have conducted about 20 seminars, trainings and master classes in the socio-economic, entrepreneurial and business areas.

Individual conversations were organized to learn about how, over the past short period, young cadres were able to make changes in their activities. The opinions of young people in responsible positions about the situation from the bottom up in the field of public service were also heard.

– This program really inspired us young civil servants. In many cases, the newly appointed civil servant is hesitant about where to start. During the training, we mastered such topics as time management, result-oriented management, team building, diplomatic culture, – said Sardorjon Rakhmonov, deputy khokim of the Davlatabad district of Namangan city, head of the investment and foreign trade department. – Everyone can become a chief, but not every chief can be a leader, we need to constantly work on ourselves, to develop. We returned to our workplaces and within 6 months applied the knowledge and skills gained during a special training course.

– The knowledge gained during the special course "Leaders of the Future" helped me not only in self-development, but also in the development of others: I passed on my knowledge to the students of my university – Karakalpak State University. This 4-day intensive refresher course allowed us to correct our shortcomings and further develop our knowledge and skills, – said Aisholpan Orazimbetova, assistant lecturer at the Department of Journalism at Karakalpak State University.

– About 800 candidates from regions of the country and ministries have passed the three-stage test to be among the attendees of the program. As a result, the 50 candidates with the highest scores were selected, – said Abdurakhmon Umarov, a responsible employee of the Agency for the Development of Public Service. – For 2 months, the attendees participated in trainings based on modern teaching methods conducted not only by the teaching staff of the Academy, but also by the heads of ministries and departments. They were taught subjects such as leadership, team building, time management, project management, strategic analysis, conflict management and socio-economic development of regions. Certificates were awarded to those who successfully completed the course.

After that, young civil servants began to apply the acquired knowledge in practice.

– Over the past 6 months, we have fully applied the knowledge and skills obtained under the special training program "Leaders of the Future" organized for a period of 3 months. This special course showed what qualities, knowledge and competencies a leader in New Uzbekistan should have, – said Boburbek Muminov, first deputy khokim of Fergana city for financial, economic issues and poverty reduction. – As our President said, we must serve as a solid foundation in building a people's state. To this end, the organization of a special intensive training course for the graduates of the 1st season of the special training program "Leaders of the Future" provided the basis for a critical analysis of our achievements over the past 6 months.

It should be noted that today the appointment to senior positions and promotion of attendees who have successfully completed the “Leaders of the Future” program are provided. In particular, according to the monitoring results, 56% of trainees (27 people) were appointed to a higher position than their previous position. 27% of trainees (13 people) were included in the reserve for leadership positions in their organization.
